CalRecycle is California's Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, focused on promoting recycling and waste management. The Accountant Trainee will support operational functions in the accounting section, handling accounts receivable duties and ensuring compliance with governmental accounting principles. Responsibilities Support operational functions in the ASD/ Fiscal Services/ Accounting/ AR Unit Accounting Section at CalRecycle Responsible for duties related to the accounts receivable (AR) functions within the departmental accounting office Prepare and track various monthly accounts receivable reports and reconciliations Analyze accounts receivables for completeness and accuracy Ensure department’s billings are processed according to the state administrative manual (SAM) and regulations as set forth in Public Resources Code (PRC) Skills Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Knowledge of governmental accounting Knowledge of the uniform accounting system Knowledge of related laws, rules and regulations Knowledge of principles of business management Ability to prepare and track various monthly accounts receivable reports and reconciliations Ability to analyze accounts receivables for completeness and accuracy Ability to ensure department's billings are processed according to the state administrative manual (SAM) and regulations as set forth in Public Resources Code (PRC) Eligibility for the classification Submission of a standard state application (Form Std.678) with an original signature Indication of RPA 24-226 & Position # 835-161-4179-010 in the 'Job Title(s)' section of the Standard State Application Attachment of a copy of degree and/or transcripts (unofficial or official) to the application Completion of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for this recruitment Company Overview CalRecycle (California's Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery) oversees California’s efforts to reduce waste and build a circular economy that reuses materials endlessly to cut trash pollution and save our limited resources.
