Job Description

The Hunt School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions within the undergraduate nursing programs. Courses are available in the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN), Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), and Davis RN-BSN program options. Course assignments may include core courses and/or practicum courses based on qualifications. TBSN and ABSN courses are offered face-to-face and online. RN-BSN courses are offered online. Practicum courses are offered online but may require in-person or virtual site visits. Practicum sites are located in proximity to the studentโ€™s home address. Primary Responsibilities: ยท Teach material from the approved curriculum and up-to-date clinical practice guidelines ยท Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and professional behavior ยท Maintain and submit student grades and attendance per university policies ยท Maintain productive contact with students and offer support, as appropriate ยท Follow the guidelines, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Faculty Handbook ยท Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to ensure course quality ยท Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback ยท Participate in required adjunct faculty meetings and training sessions ยท Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: ยท Master of Science in Nursing degree ยท Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a compact state, or be eligible for licensure in North Carolina. ยท Minimum of two years of employment in direct client care as an RN ยท Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills ยท Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Applicants without this preparation may complete the required coursework within 3 years from the time of employment. Review of applications will be ongoing based on needs each semester.
