About the Role We’re seeking a senior-level, results-driven AI Developer with a proven track record of building and deploying real-world AI systems.
This role is focused on applied AI, not research or experimentation for its own sake. Your primary mission will be to design, build, and deploy AI-driven systems that understand both human needs and program eligibility language, enabling accurate matching between individuals and publicly available assistance programs (grants, scholarships, workforce training, education, and benefits). This is a build-and-ship role. You must be able to show your work, explain the business value of what you’ve built, and demonstrate how your AI solutions have been used in production.
What You’ll Do • Design and implement AI systems to parse, extract, and structure large-scale data from websites and public databases (government, nonprofit, education). • Build and deploy NLP models that understand: • User intent and needs • Program, grant, and eligibility language • Develop models for: • Intelligent tagging and classification • Semantic search and vector-based retrieval • Candidate-to-program matching and recommendation • Create and maintain clean, scalable data pipelines and databases that support downstream AI use.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deploy AI models as core platform services. • Continuously evaluate and improve models using: • Performance metrics • A/B testing • Feedback loops and retraining strategies • Work with emerging AI tools and platforms, including Manus AI, to expand automation, inference, and intelligent workflows. • Support marketing initiatives through AI, such as: • Intelligent segmentation • Content analysis or personalization • Insight generation (not a marketing-heavy role) You’re a Great Fit If You • Have 3–5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production (academic-only experience does not qualify).
• Have direct experience with: • NLP • Entity extraction • Text classification • Semantic or vector search • Recommendation or matching systems • Are fluent in Python and experienced with frameworks such as: • PyTorch • TensorFlow • Hugging Face Transformers • Have experience with data ingestion and processing, including: • Web scraping • APIs • ETL pipelines • Are comfortable working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB). • Can clearly demonstrate your AI work through: • Case studies • Portfolio links • Shipped products • Measurable business outcomes • Stay current with modern AI trends and tooling, and enjoy adopting new technologies.
Bonus Points • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS). • Experience integrating LLMs for semantic understanding and retrieval. • Familiarity with: • Public benefits • Grants or scholarship systems • Education or workforce platforms • Social impact or civic tech • Experience supporting marketing or growth teams using AI, without being a full-time marketer.
