Job Description
Vice President of Operations
Location: Remote (US-based, core hours CST)
Company: Canopy Management LLC
About Canopy
Canopy Management is a leading full-stack Amazon and marketplace growth agency helping brands dominate Amazon, Walmart, and TikTok through data-driven strategy, world-class execution, and a deeply collaborative partnership model. We’ve been recognized as one of the fastest-growing agencies in America, managing billions in marketplace revenue for our clients and supporting 100+ remote team members across the globe.
We don’t just use AI; we operate like a machine—combining human judgment with automation, data, and systems to deliver unfair advantages for our clients.
The Opportunity
As VP of Operations, you will be the CEO’s right hand for building a scalable, efficient, high-performance operating system for Canopy. You will translate strategy into execution, turn chaos into clarity, and ensure our teams have the processes, data, and support they need to deliver exceptional results for brands at scale.
You will be obsessed with AI, automation, and operational excellence—designing workflows where humans do what humans do best, and systems do the rest. If you love building a “freaking machine” of an organization that runs on clean data, clear ownership, and relentless execution, this role is for you.
- What You’ll Own
- Company Operating System
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the operating cadence (OKRs, scorecards, leadership rhythm, quarterly/annual planning) across all departments.
- Standardize processes, SLAs, and playbooks for client delivery, onboarding, and internal operations, with a strong emphasis on automation and AI-assisted workflows.
- Day-to-Day Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations across client services, sales operations, finance ops, HR/People ops, and business systems in partnership with functional leaders.
- Build and manage dashboards/KPIs to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive data-backed decisions.
- Scalability, AI & Efficiency
- Diagnose operational pain points and drive projects that reduce friction, increase margin, and create leverage (automation, tooling, process redesign, AI copilots for teams).
- Champion the smart use of AI across the business (from forecasting and capacity planning to knowledge management and QA), ensuring we operate like a predictable, high-output machine without losing our humanity.
- Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop an operations leadership bench (directors/managers across Ops, PMO, and Business Systems).
- Model and reinforce a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in a high-growth, fully remote environment.
- Client & Partner Enablement
- Ensure our internal operations consistently support best-in-class client outcomes and a premium service experience.
- Partner with Revenue, Marketing, and Delivery leadership to align operations with our Canopy Brand Plan™ approach and growth goals.
- Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Implement and maintain operational controls, policies, and procedures that protect the business (data security, vendor management, contracting workflows, and basic compliance).
- Support M&A/integration or strategic partnerships operationally as needed.
- Ideal Experience
- 8+ years in operations leadership, including 3+ years at VP/Senior Director level in:
- A digital agency, performance marketing firm, SaaS, or tech-enabled services environment; Amazon/ecommerce experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of:
- Scaling a remote or hybrid organization from ~50–150+ FTEs while improving margins and NPS/CSAT.
- Implementing an operating system (e.g., EOS, OKR framework, V2MOM, custom OS) and driving adoption.
- Leading cross-functional initiatives that materially improved efficiency, speed, or quality.
- Experience deploying or operationalizing AI and automation (workflow automation tools, AI copilots, analytics/BI, or similar).
- Comfortable working directly with founders/CEOs in high-velocity environments; you can push back with data and still strengthen the relationship.
- Strong financial acumen: understands P&L, unit economics, and how operational decisions roll up to profitability and cash.
- What You Bring
- Builder mindset: You enjoy creating systems and structure where they don’t exist yet, not just managing what’s already there.
- Operator’s discipline: You think in terms of KPIs, leading indicators, processes, playbooks, and feedback loops.
- AI-native thinking: You instinctively ask, “What can we automate? Where can AI make this faster, more accurate, or more scalable?” and then make it real.
- People leadership: You know how to hire, coach, and retain A-players, and you’re comfortable having hard conversations quickly and fairly.
- Communication: Clear, concise, and candid—whether you’re in a leadership meeting, an async Loom, or a one-on-one.
- Bias to action: You ship, learn, iterate; you don’t wait for perfect information.
- Why You’ll Love Working at Canopy
- Category-leading agency with a strong reputation, proven outcomes, and deep marketplace expertise.
- High-caliber team of marketplace, creative, and performance experts who care deeply about client results.
- Fully remote, with teammates across the US and globally, operating with autonomy and high trust.
- The chance to build an AI-accelerated operations engine that feels less like traditional ops and more like designing the control system of a high-performance machine.
How to Apply
If you’re excited to build and own the AI-powered operational backbone of a top-tier Amazon and marketplace agency, we’d love to hear from you.
- Please apply with:
- Your resume or LinkedIn profile
- A short note (or Loom) describing:
- A specific example where you implemented an operating system, automation, or AI-enabled process that meaningfully improved performance (with metrics if possible), and
