Job Description
IT Solutions is a fast-growing Managed Service Provider specializing in high-end technology solutions for small and mid-market businesses. The Analyst, Backup Management is responsible for managing and maintaining backup solutions to ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance, while collaborating with other teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain backup solutions including VEEAM, Datto SaaS Protect, and Azure Backup
- Ensure the integrity and availability of backup data by performing regular backups, test restores, monitoring backup jobs and auditing for unprotected data
- Develop and implement backup policies and procedures to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards
- Perform test restores to verify the reliability and effectiveness of backup solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues in a timely manner
- Identify and eliminate repeat or chronic issues
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of backup solutions with other systems and applications
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding backup solutions and best practices
- Maintain documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Stay updated with the latest developments in backup technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions
- Keep accurate notes of work performed and track time daily
- Provide timely updates to management and clients via telephone, video chat and email
- Engage management or other team members on challenging issues
Skills
- Proven experience in managing backup solutions, specifically VEEAM, Datto SaaS Protect, AWS and Azure Backup
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery principles, including RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective)
- Basic understanding of networking principles
- Intermediate experience with virtualization technologies and storage hardware
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving backup-related issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications such as VEEAM Certified Engineer (VMCE), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus
