Assist the IRC’s Anti-Trafficking team in Tallahassee by supporting survivors of human trafficking, conducting outreach, and coordinating care.
Your Role:
- Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Anti-Trafficking Casework Coordinator with client intake services, including needs assessments, safety planning, and service planning
- Providing direct services to clients and their families, such as enrolling individuals in public benefits and making referrals to community partners
- Assisting with research on local community resources
- Supporting outreach to local organizations to help establish partnerships within the community
- Carrying out administrative duties including data entry, filing, and labeling
- Assisting with managing client case notes and files
- Communicating case statuses and client concerns to supervisor, and coordinating service plans with supervisor
- Participating in community awareness and outreach efforts
- Traveling within the Tallahassee region as required
About You:
- The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Interest in international issues
- Strong desire and enthusiasm to help people
- Computer literacy, preferably with PC systems
- Access to internet
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to an insured vehicle
- Must pass a background check
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months
- Ability to submit intern hours on volunteer dashboard
- Based in Tallahassee
- Compensation & Benefits:
- This is an unpaid internship
- Flexible hours, primarily between 9AM and 5PM on weekdays, with occasional weekend activities
