About the TeamThe Virtual Preparatory Academy of West Virginia is a K-12 tuition-free online public school in the state of West Virginia. At VPA West Virginia, we empower students to be their best by enabling them to learn in ways that are right for them ΓΒ using innovative technology at home, at their proper level, and at their own pace.
The Virtual Student Services Manager works with the members of the administrative team to implement the school's engagement programming. The Student Services Manager provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to support the students' academic achievement, personal and social development and understands and responds to the challenges of a diverse student population. The Student Services Manager leads engagement interventions, family and student support and onboarding efforts, school-wide positive and proactive behavioral programming.
Please note ΓΒ while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

About the Opportunity
ΓΒ Oversees creation, implementation, and tracking systems of student onboarding and orientation plans
ΓΒ Creates and implements identification and intervention plans for non-engaged students
ΓΒ Creates and delivers professional development for staff on student onboarding, social emotional well-being, and engagement
ΓΒ Develops methods to use of data to determine and respond to student needs
ΓΒ May carry a reduced caseload of students needing intervention plans and/or wrap around supports
ΓΒ Serve as the primary point of contact for school administration in developing plans to address barriers to full achievement of attendance, academic, and behavioral goals
ΓΒ In collaboration with the administrative team creates and implements school wide positive behavior programming
ΓΒ In collaboration with the school administration team and national enrollment team, creates and implements re-registration plans and efforts
ΓΒ Facilitates identification of student barriers to learning and connection to appropriate services and resources
ΓΒ Works collaboratively with Accel national team members on program creation, implementation, and measurement of program outcomes
ΓΒ Collaborates closely with school administration to craft student supports and programs that will promote desired student academic outcomes
ΓΒ Designs and implements proactive community outreach and communication efforts
ΓΒ Creates forms and processes to support implementation of Student Code of Conduct
ΓΒ Documents disciplinary actions per established process and maintains all disciplinary data as required for state reporting purposes
ΓΒ Supports principal in responding to disciplinary situations in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders (administrators, school staff, students, families)
ΓΒ Supervises the Student Success Coaches and other team members
ΓΒ Other duties as assigned
About You
ΓΒ West Virginia residency preferred
ΓΒ Master's Degree in Education or Social Services preferred
ΓΒ 5+ years of experience in the K-12 educational setting
ΓΒ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products
ΓΒ Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
ΓΒ Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
ΓΒ Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
ΓΒ Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
ΓΒ Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare
ΓΒ Demonstrated leadership and management ability
ΓΒ Excellent written and oral communication skills
ΓΒ Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
ΓΒ Customer service oriented
ΓΒ Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members
ΓΒ Prior administrative assistance experience preferred
ΓΒ Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
ΓΒ Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
ΓΒ Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
ΓΒ Ability to lift 25 lbs.
ΓΒ Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
