About the position

The Assistant Director for DEI Training, Education, & Community Relations is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training and community development initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the organization. This part-time role focuses on creating DEI educational programs and enhancing community engagement to promote transparency, trust, and mutual respect around DEI issues, fostering a more inclusive environment.

Responsibilities
ย• Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of DEI to identify DEI-related needs such as trainings and workshops.

ย• Develop and implement DEI trainings and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and values.
,
ย• Integrate DEI principles into existing programs and initiatives across various departments.
,
ย• Assess the current state of DEI training and identify areas for improvement.
,
ย• Develop and implement a comprehensive campus-wide DEI training program for students, faculty, and staff.
,
ย• Conduct workshops and seminars to raise awareness of DEI issues such as bias and anti-racism.
,
ย• Stay updated on best practices in DEI to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of inclusive practices.

ย• Provide regular reports on DEI training progress to leadership.
,
ย• Develop educational resources and materials to support DEI initiatives.
,
ย• Establish partnerships with external organizations to enhance DEI training programs.
,
ย• Serve as the main point of contact for all DEI training and professional development initiatives.
,
ย• Build and maintain relationships with faculty, students, staff, and community organizations to enhance ODEI's presence.
,
ย• Attend community events to stay informed about local DEI initiatives and build partnerships.
,
ย• Develop strategic goals for internal and external community engagement regarding DEI.
,
ย• Assist with DEI-related concerns within the community and support the Incident Support Team (IST).
,
ย• Monitor the effectiveness of the IST process and provide recommendations for improvement.
,
ย• Maintain accurate records of DEI concerns to inform programming and training needs.

Requirements
ย• Bachelor's Degree.
,
ย• Four years of related experience in DEI training and education.

Nice-to-haves
ย• Degree in human resources, diversity and inclusion, or related field.
,
ย• Master's degree preferred.
,
ย• Prior experience in conflict resolution or a related role.
