About the position
We are seeking an early-career Epidemiologist join our Health Sciences practice. This role is designed for a recent graduate (PhD, ScD, or DrPH in Epidemiology) from a rigorous, research-intensive university who has already gained foundational exposure to consulting environments - whether through full‑time roles, internships, assistantships, or analyst-level experience in technical consulting.
This individual will continue developing technical and applied consulting skills under the mentorship of senior epidemiologists, including experts with long-standing academic and regulatory/litigation experience.
- Responsibilities
- Support epidemiological analyses across environmental, occupational, regulatory, and health sciences projects.
- Conduct literature reviews, assist with protocol development, data management, and statistical analyses (R, SAS, Stata, SPSS, or Python).
- Draft supporting sections of reports, research summaries, and client deliverables.
- Contribute to exposure assessments, causation analysis research, and structured analysis frameworks used in litigation and regulatory matters (in a supporting, non‑testifying capacity).
- Participate in project meetings, help manage small tasks/workstreams, and contribute to quality assurance and project documentation.
- Apply and deepen understanding of core consulting skills (client communication support, budgeting exposure, workflow management).
- Build cross-functional familiarity with toxicology, exposure science, industrial hygiene, and risk assessment by collaborating on multidisciplinary engagements.
- Requirements
- PhD, ScD, or DrPH in Epidemiology from an accredited, non-profit, research‑intensive university.
- Strong grounding in epidemiologic methods, biostatistics, study design, and scientific critical appraisal.
- Experience with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata, SPSS, or Python).
- Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated reliability, organization, and willingness to grow within a structured, fast-paced consulting environment.
- Nice-to-haves
- Experience or coursework in occupational or environmental epidemiology.
- Experience managing small project tasks, drafting memos, or conducting client‑requested analyses.
