ASSOCIATE IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY

Our firm is seeking a part-time associate attorney who can work remotely, with the option to manage cases from any location in the United States. The position is full time. Important: Candidates for this position must have at least one year of previous experience as an immigration attorney and be licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia. The associate attorney will manage a team of paralegals, review and sign cases, and ensure the smooth operation of the legal workflow. Responsibilities will include: • Representing clients before the Immigration Court, U.S.

Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and the federal courts; • Preparing and drafting applications/petitions for immigration benefits; • Advising and counseling clients on possible avenues of relief; • Researching case law, regulations, and statutes to help defend clients and assert their rights; • Reviewing applications and signing off on legal documents; • Representing clients in family-based applications, consular processing, and other cases; • Providing advice and representation to immigrants seeking relief such as Asylum, VAWA, U visas, and T visas; • Working collaboratively with partners and overseeing paralegal staff; • Conducting legal research and writing to support both affirmative and defensive applications, as well as federal litigation.

Requirements: • Must be licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia. • Experience managing a team is a plus. • Preference will be given to candidates with Spanish or Portuguese language skills. • A demonstrated commitment to immigration law and related social justice issues is preferred.
