Job Description
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking an Attendance/Benefits Coordinator to join their diverse team. In this role, the individual will perform administrative clerical duties, process attendance and benefits, and serve as a liaison between employees and the Human Resources Division. Responsibilities Performs a variety of routine and time-sensitive administrative clerical duties Prepares Pharmacy Authorization (PA) correspondence and fair hearing files Serves as the Attendance Coordinator (AC) processing attendance, benefits, and other related personnel issues Collects employee's time sheets and submits them to the PS for processing Prepares appropriate documentation for processing, including the coordination of confidential issues; such as health benefits, employee salaries, leave, attendance, retirement and other pertinent documents Coordinates with the Personnel Liaison and hiring managers for recruitments; such as, scheduling and proctoring interviews, preparing interview packets and other pertinent documents and forwards to headquarters for processing Skills Permanent civil service status Reachable on an employment list Transfer eligibility Reinstatement eligibility Ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications Obtain a valid typing certificate confirming ability to meet the minimum typing speed prior to being hired Able to maintain consistent and regular attendance Detailed oriented Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Able to effectively communicate Benefits Continuous and ongoing training Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program activities Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Medical, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
