Job Description
I’m looking for an attorney or highly experienced legal writer to do a fast review and polish of a demand letter involving consumer protection, housing/rental issues, and related civil claims.
This is not a from-scratch drafting project. The letter is already substantially prepared. I need someone to review it for:
- legal writing quality and persuasiveness
- citation accuracy and formatting
- clarity, organization, and tone
- internal consistency of the factual and legal framing
- any weak spots, overstatements, or areas that should be tightened before it goes out
Ideal background:
- experience with consumer protection, housing/rental disputes, habitability, property-related disputes, or similar civil matters
- and/or strong experience editing and polishing high-stakes legal demand letters, briefs, or litigation documents
Turnaround:
This is a rush job. I need comments and revisions returned no later than mid next week.
What I will provide:
- the current draft letter
- supporting background if needed
- any specific questions or issues I want reviewed
What I need back:
- a cleanly edited version or redline
- brief notes on any citation/legal issues
- any major concerns that should be addressed before sending
