Job SummaryAt Porter Airlines, a rewarding Aircraft Engineer career awaits. Porter is offering relocation assistance up to a maximum of $10,000 for successful candidates located outside of Montreal.Reporting to the Manager, Base and International Maintenance, the Base Engineer, YUL will work in support of Porter's fleet in a line maintenance environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, approved manuals and established proceduresRepair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systemsInstall or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systemsDismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair and cleaning, and reassemblePerform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenanceOrder and manage local inventory of parts, tooling, and suppliesMaintain GSEAct as liaison between key company departments and external vendorsActively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety PolicyEnsure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working orderCarry out any task assigned by Maintenance Operations ControlAssist on the ramp as requiredBehavioural CompetenciesConcern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers).Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization's standards.Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.QualificationsPossession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) requiredProven technical aptitude with at least 2 years' experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8- Q400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft preferredExperience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine enginesAbility to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spacesAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver's airside license within 6 months from date of hireFull unrestricted driver's license with a clean abstract requiredSuccessfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening testsFlexibility to work shifts and overtimeLocationMontréal (Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport - YUL)
