About the position
- Responsibilities
- Perform intake processes for members accessing services.
- Answer telephone calls and explain the operation of PerformCare to members.
- Complete intake information regarding the member.
- Explain procedures for accessing services to members.
- Coordinate with the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) to assist members in securing transportation to appointments.
- Complete bed searches for In-Patient and Substance Abuse bed requests as required.
- Address member complaints through the PerformCare Grievance and Complaint process.
- Explain a member's rights as requested.
- Provide additional resources to members such as a Member Handbook and a list of in-plan providers.
- Complete data entry of requests and authorizations.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- 1-3 years of Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to respond sensitively to member's requests preferred.
- Previous customer service in a call center environment and data entry experience preferred.
- At least one year of experience in mental health or human services is required, or equivalent background and experience that would translate well into this position.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with members and all other internal and external customers.
- Ability to use PCs in a Windows-based environment.
