Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Biology Student Tutor/Desk Attendant to join our team at Stark State College. As a Federal Work Study position, this role offers a competitive salary and flexible hours to support students in need of academic assistance. Key Responsibilities:
- Tutor students in biology and related courses, providing individualized support and guidance
- Welcome students, assist with coursework, and provide computer assistance as needed
- Manage the Science Learning Center, including answering phones, printing materials, and maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Collaborate with the Science Learning Center Coordinator to complete assigned tasks and projects
- Provide guidance on study skills, homework systems, and computer applications
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Stark State College
- Earned an A or B in the biology course(s) you wish to tutor
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to use current textbooks and computer software to assist students
Work Details:
- Flexible hours: 5-20 hours per week
- Location: North Canton, OH (with remote work options)
- Competitive salary: $10.10 per hour
