Description: ā¢ This position is accountable for supporting various functions within Power Generation Accounting as an individual contributor. ā¢ This position will ensure compliance with financial/accounting deadlines. Incumbent will prepare, analyze, monitor, and maintain financial information in support of the Power Generation business unit. Job Responsibilities ā¢ Involved with month end closing for Power Generation accounting. ā¢ Prepare and enter journal entries. ā¢ Create and maintain reports and spreadsheets. ā¢ Meet financial deadlines. ā¢ Ensure financial accuracy in the general ledger. ā¢ Run, distribute, and analyze financial reporting. ā¢ Support budget and current estimates updates. ā¢ Post, review, and validate with business unit that monthly accruals are all submitted and are accurate. ā¢ Analyze current estimate and budgets to identify variances. ā¢ Provide support to customers in obtaining/understanding financial and budget data. ā¢ Assist customers with drill-downs and obtaining more detailed information. ā¢ Develop documentation of processes. ā¢ Other responsibilities as assigned. ā¢ This position requires additional hours during certain times of the month. Minimum Experience Required ā¢ Applicant must have completed at least one year of post-secondary credit hours, including two courses in accounting, plus two years of work experience in accounting within the last five years, including demonstrated electronic spreadsheet knowledge associated with accounting: OR within the last five years, completed two years of post-secondary credit hours, including four courses in accounting with demonstrated electronic spreadsheet knowledge associated with accounting. ā¢ Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving. ā¢ This position may require unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation. Preferred Qualifications ā¢ General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounting, various software packages including SAP, Excel and Word. ā¢ Skills include analytical, oral and written communication, prioritization, and self-directed/motivated. ā¢ Learn and grasp new concepts quickly ā¢ Strong interpersonal ā¢ Ability to work independently and as a member of a team ā¢ Attention to detail
