Job Description
The California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) Developer to assist in the modernization of its IT environment. The role involves designing, maintaining, and implementing complex data integration services for the agency's enterprise data, as well as providing data and ad-hoc query support to business and technical partners. Responsibilities Work independently and as a team to design, maintain, and implement complex data integration services for FTB’s enterprise data Need a comprehensive understanding of the tools and techniques involved in data analysis and data integration Provide complex data and ad-hoc query support to business and technical partners throughout the department Develop expert knowledge of FTB enterprise systems, data architecture, data sources, and data integration best practices Work cooperatively with bureau and Technology Services Division (TSD) technical staff in support of planning and software implementation activities Promote an environment and atmosphere of team work and cooperation consistent with the department’s values Skills Excellent customer service and communication skills for interacting with business and technical staff Experience with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management principles and methodologies Experience with bolthires software tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and Project) Experience reading and understanding a Physical Data Model (PDM) Experience understanding and writing Python code Experience using statistical mathematics Experience developing reports using tools like Business Objects, Tableau, bolthires SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services Experience with relational databases such as IBM DB2, bolthires SQL Server Experience in analytical modeling tools such as Jupyter Notebook, IBM SPSS and SAS Viya Knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and techniques Knowledge of eXtensible Markup Language (XML), Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL), XML Schema Definition (XSD), Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), XPATH, and XQUERY Knowledge of ETL tools such as IBM DataStage, Informatica and bolthires SSIS Knowledge of Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) and Franchise Tax Board's Legacy tax systems and functions Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple project priorities and workloads Ability to shift priorities and/or workloads in order to achieve project goals Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, planning, collaboration, and negotiation skills Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills Adapts well to frequent change Attention to detail, conscientious about work products, ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy Company Overview
