The Community Veteran Justice Project (CVJP) provides social services, policy advocacy, and community education to support justice-involved veterans. Operating within the framework of California Veteran Statutes and Penal Codes, CVJP helps active military members, reservists, national guard, and veterans of all discharge statuses obtain alternative sentencing, diversion programs, dismissal of charges, or treatment as alternatives to incarceration. Their efforts aim to protect veterans' rights, enhance their well-being, and benefit the broader community.
Role Description
This is a part-time remote role based in Los Angeles, CA, for a Case Manager/Navigator. The Case Manager/Navigator will work directly with justice-involved veterans, providing support and resources to guide them through the reentry process as the return tonthe community. With the BSCC ARG grant we will be ablebto provide housing to those returning veterans and provide wrap around services for their success as needed. Responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, coordinating services, developing individualized care plans, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with community partners, and service providers to ensure optimal outcomes.
This role requires consistent follow-up with clients, advocacy efforts, and coordination with local agencies and programs tailored to veterans. Qualifications • Strong case management skills, including client assessment, care planning, and service coordination • Experience in social work, counseling, or working with justice-involved individuals • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners • Comfort with maintaining detailed records and using case management software • Familiarity with challenges faced by veterans, including mental health, substance use, and housing instability • Military service background or experience working with veterans is a plus • Commitment to justice and improving the well-being of underserved populations Apply tot his job
