Job Description
McCormick & Company is a leader in herbs, spices, seasonings, and condiments, and they are seeking a Category Analyst to support the Walmart Category Management Team. The Category Analyst will provide in-depth analysis, assist in category growth strategies, and engage with cross-functional teams to deliver category insights.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed category and brand insight
- Regular business performance reporting and tracking
- Assist with development and implementation of assortment, merchandising and pricing recommendation at the national level
- Category Team analytical & administrative support (Business reviews, database management, etc)
- Provide market insights through the collection of relevant local and global market trends and shopper research techniques
- Engages directly with internal Category Management team as well as internal cross functional teams
- Provide category insights through clear, data‑driven storytelling within presentations for cross‑functional teams and during customer meeting
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field
- 1-2 years' experience in a Sales, Marketing or Analyst role
- Must have demonstrated skills working on projects and analytic analysis, including brand insight and category planogram design
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Power Point, and Word
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and organization skills, project a professional image, and interact effectively with all levels within the organization
- Interest and ability to relocate as necessary
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, with the ability to analyze and understand the data and then effectively communicate those insights to both internal and external audiences

- Experience utilizing data: POS, Retailer Specific (Scintilla), Panel and other consumer-based data providers
