Certified Home Health Coder & QA Specialist Become a part of the Hope At Home Family! We currently have a position available for a Certified Home Health Coder & QA Specialist. Position Summary: Certified Home Health Coder & QA Specialist is required to have PDGM, Oasis D1 experience, and Kinnser software knowledge. Home Health Coder is responsible for coding using ICD-10 all diagnoses and applicable procedures of skilled service visits. The position is also responsible for reviewing OASIS and abstracting visit data for billing and data collection purposes. Responsibilities: β€’ Codes records using ICD-10-CM and coding guidelines. β€’ Reviews OASIS. β€’ Observes and report unusual patterns in data collection and/or lack of adequate documentation for code assignments. β€’ Review documentation and provide ICD-10 coding recommendations based on current coding and Oasis guidelines. β€’ Performs other related duties as requested by the Home Health Supervision β€’ Must be self-motivated, responsive, and committed to communicating with the management/supervisor closely via high-tech communication modules. Qualification: β€’ Certification in Home Health Coding required β€’ Proficient knowledge of Oasis preferred. β€’ Registered Nurse, preferred. β€’ Working knowledge of CMS Condition of Participation in Home Health Services is required. β€’ Working knowledge of federal and state home health licensure regulations is required. β€’ Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, compliance, and reimbursement guidelines are required. β€’ Sound computer skill and adaptability to home health documentation software is a must. β€’ Detail-oriented with critical thinking and strong analytical skills are required. β€’ The ability to demonstrate flexibility in response to unexpected changes in work volume and work schedule are required. β€’ Excellent interpersonal relation skills including active listening, conflict resolution, and team building are required. β€’ A minimum of two years of previous experience with ICD-10 and/or ICD-9 coding with verified employment/experience are required. Education: β€’ A high school diploma is required, and a college diploma is preferred. β€’ Completion of coding specific coursework required Certifications: β€’ Certified in Home Health coding, required. β€’ Medical Coding: 5 years β€’ ICD-10: 2 years General Requirements: The ideal candidate must possess the following characteristics: β€’ Commitment and reliability; be able to dedicate consistent time to HIA β€’ Superb communication and responsiveness Computer literacy β€’ Must be comfortable with, but not limited to Excel, web-browsers, email, electronic health records (non-specific) β€’ Must be familiar with various technologies such as, but not limited to: security (e.g., Citrix), data collection/abstraction, encoders, web-based applications β€’ Self-maintenance of skillset β€’ Maintaining credentials β€’ Staying current with abstraction/coding rules, manuals, and guidelines β€’ Prior experience in position applying for β€’ Strong interpersonal skills and tactfulness to be able to effectively communicate with team members and client contacts Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate must possess: β€’ Registered Nurse License in Michigan β€’ A college degree from β€’ An accredited nursing program, or β€’ Other accredited healthcare programs β€’ Healthcare credentials associated with their program of study β€’ Other healthcare information related abstraction and coding credentials are desirable Apply tot his job
