This role involves administering programs that provide lifestyle interventions aimed at helping Nebraskans prevent or effectively manage chronic conditions. The position requires the dissemination of information about chronic disease prevention to communities and partners, supporting statewide efforts to promote healthy living. Additionally, it involves ensuring that services are delivered to the appropriate populations, at the right times and locations, and monitoring progress to ensure program goals are achieved. This is a critical role in advancing public health initiatives and improving health outcomes for residents throughout Nebraska. Job Duties: The Compliance Coordinator makes independent decisions related to approving/rejecting invoices, makes program spending decisions, coordinates program staff, decides activities and methods for implementing program priorities and goals, approves budget reports to federal agencies, determines compliance of subrecipient or contractors and decides on resolutions, determines compliance of spending with federal and grant requirements. Compliance issues with contractors and subrecipients, non-compliance with federal grant rules and regulations, program staff work quality or performance issues, publishing or sharing of data or sensitive information, approval of written responses to legislation, audits, and public record requests. Federal funding reporting and monitoring: Researches and writes required plans, grants, proposals and reports for timely transmittal to federal and state authorities. Monitors overall program budget and allocation of funds through the ongoing review of accounting documents, review of audits from contracted programs, and reporting from subrecipients Contract and subaward drafting, management, and monitoring: Prepares grant applications to federal agencies requesting funds to support program initiatives, identify subrecipients, complete subawards and contracts in CLMS, monitor subrecipient workplans and budgets, report to federal project officers, understand federal funding requirements. Manage, Facilitate, Moderate, and update Partner Touchpoints: Schedule and facilitate touch-bases with subrecipients specific to but not limited to Diabetes prevention and management, Heart Disease and Stroke prevention and management, public health Nutrition and Physical fitness. Community Partner Outreach: Seek out and engage organizations across Nebraska who would benefit from their own program in-house related to our CDx focus areas (Diabetes, Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke, etc.). Provide technical assistance with applying for financial support, reporting workplan and budget updates, and outcomes. Check in with community partners regularly, Creating outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, and social media content to promote programs or events. This may also involve managing media campaigns, public dashboards, and website content. Establishing and maintaining relationships with community members, organizations, leaders, and influencers. This could include attending community meetings, networking events, and collaborating with local groups. Data Management and Reporting: Adhere to federal funding requirements by compiling and managing data belonging to their respective federal funding sources, report those data outputs to DHHS leadership as needed. Requirements/Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in public or community health, business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, healthcare, or related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in public or community health, public administration, healthcare, or related field. Experience writing and managing federal grants and contracts/subawards and performing quality assurance and monitoring. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Knowledge of the principles and practices of public health planning and implementation; the principles of grant writing, reporting, and grant administration; contract and subaward writing, monitoring, and management; and techniques of developing partnerships and collaborations. Ability to design and implement programs based on grant funding requirements and community needs; maintain accurate and thorough records; prepare grant proposals and reports; interpret and apply federal grant requirements, agency rules, policies and procedures; communicate effectively; design educational and informational materials; prioritize and manage time; problem solve and make decisions; balance needs, requirements, and work load for multiple projects; self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
