The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for a Civil Engineering Specialist in their Highways Bureau. This role involves assembling road plans packages, conducting engineering analysis, overseeing projects, and determining solutions based on engineering guidelines. Responsibilities Participate in assembling road plans packages for highway projects Create proposals and evaluations of alternates Perform computations of geometric data and estimation of plan quantities Create design models and assemble plan sheets Incorporate recommendations from other technical specialists Compose specifications needed to build highways on the Secondary, Primary, and Interstate Highway systems of the State of Montana Conduct in-depth engineering and analysis Administer contracts and oversee projects and project design May serve as a lead worker Skills Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field For Civil Engineering Specialist 2: 6 months to 2 years of related work experience For Civil Engineering Specialist 3: 2 to 4 years related work experience Proof of passage of the Fundamental Engineering Exam (FE) for Civil Engineering Specialist 2 and 3 Engineering Intern Certification (EIT) or licensed
