Job Description
GEICO is a leading insurance company that offers quality coverage to millions of customers. They are seeking a Claims Preparation Support Clerk to assist claims handlers and manage documentation related to claim files.
Responsibilities
- Assists claims handlers in obtaining and/or verifying information pertinent to the handling of claim files
- May research policy for claims and policy information
- Obtains necessary supporting documentation from the involved parties or liability adjuster. Prepares supporting documents
- May coordinate staff adjuster assignments
- May prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- May set up new loss files for Claims handlers, logs file in and distributes to appropriate claim associates
- May set up CCC files and dispatch to the property damage team
- Manages an outlook mailbox, communicating with internal and external contacts
Skills
- Must be able to work inbound and outbound calls
- Must be able to speak in a clear, empathic and professional manner by telephone
- Must perform duties at a stationary workstation
- Strong decision making, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to follow instructions and have strong organization skills
