Job Description

Pittman Consulting is assembling an expert team for a proposal to the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) to create a system-wide AI governance framework. This is a unique opportunity to shape how AI is adopted safely and effectively across a major public hospital system.

We are seeking a board-certified physician (MD/DO) or an experienced advanced practice provider (NP/PA) with a strong background in clinical informatics. You will be the clinical conscience of our team, ensuring that all governance frameworks, policies, and training materials are grounded in the realities of clinical practice, patient safety, and quality improvement.

Your role is critical to the credibility and success of our proposal. You will work collaboratively with experts in AI governance, healthcare law, and instructional design. This is a long-term, remote-first contract with the potential for a multi-year engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design of governance-level frameworks for clinical validation and safety checks for new AI tools.

Provide clinical expertise to inform the AI risk stratification and evaluation toolkit.

Develop and review content for educational modules focused on clinical safety, quality impacts, and the responsible use of AI in a clinical setting.

Serve as the primary clinical liaison to HHSC physicians, nurses, and other clinical stakeholders.

Ensure the proposed AI governance framework is practical and aligned with clinical workflows.

Required Qualifications:

MD, DO, DNP, or MSN degree.

Board certification in a clinical specialty and/or formal training/certification in Clinical Informatics.

Minimum 3+ years of experience working in a clinical informatics role within a hospital or health system.

Deep understanding of clinical workflows, patient safety, quality improvement methodologies, and EHR systems.

Must be willing to have your full resume included in a government contract proposal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Epic EHR.

Experience in developing or evaluating clinical decision support (CDS) tools.

Previous involvement in technology governance or clinical IT committees.

Experience developing or delivering clinical education, especially for CME credit.

Project Details:

Type: Long-term contract (initial 12-month term, with potential for three 1-year renewals).

Estimated Hours: 5-7 hours/week on average.
