About the position

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a motivated Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (AWS) Jr. Level to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting a large scale program for the federal government, ensuring high availability and performance. This role includes infrastructure provisioning and monitoring, enforcement of security best practices, systems administration, and DevSecOps.

    Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
  • Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for cloud resources
  • Perform system administration tasks and optimize performance
  • Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure security best practices are followed in cloud environments
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident response
    Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in:
  • AWS (VPC, S3, EC2, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
  • IaC tools (Terraform)
  • Linux – system administration, shell scripting, performance tuning
  • Monitoring: CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk
  • Networking fundamentals: VPNs, DNS, load balancing, firewalls
  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
  • Scripting: bash, Python
  • Git
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, and effective time management.
  • Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
