The Role: Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Coach

As a DEO Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Coach, you will work directly with dental practice owners, group leaders, and DSO executives who are struggling to attract, hire, and retain the talent they need to grow. Your mission: to teach them how to recruit like a professional—from sourcing dentists and hygienists to hiring high-performing office managers and support staff. But you won’t just coach from the sidelines. You’ll also play a key role in building DEO’s recruiting platform and managing relationships with recruiting agencies on behalf of our members, creating a best-in-class talent acquisition resource for the entire DEO community.

What You’ll Bring

Dental Recruiting Expertise: A proven track record of recruiting key positions in the dental industry—associate dentists, hygienists, office managers, treatment coordinators, and other critical roles. You’ve filled hard-to-fill seats and you know where to find talent others can’t.

Full-Cycle Recruiting Knowledge: Deep understanding of every stage of the hiring process—from employer branding and job posting strategy to sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding. You can teach it all.

Agency & Vendor Management: Experience working with external recruiting agencies and staffing firms. You know how to evaluate partners, negotiate terms, hold vendors accountable, and build relationships that deliver consistent results for your clients.

Platform-Building Mindset: Experience building or scaling a recruiting function, platform, or system—whether inside a DSO, a staffing company, or a consulting firm. You think in terms of infrastructure, not just individual hires.

Market Intelligence: A finger on the pulse of the dental labor market—compensation benchmarks, regional supply and demand dynamics, and the trends shaping how dental professionals choose where to work.

The Coach’s Heart: A genuine passion for teaching and empowering dental entrepreneurs to become better recruiters. Prior coaching experience is a plus, but we will train the right expert who loves helping others win the talent game.

What You’ll Do

Recruiting Coaching & Education: Teach DEO members how to recruit effectively for dentists, hygienists, office managers, and support staff—through 1:1 sessions, cohort programs, and workshops. Provide scripts, templates, interview guides, and proven frameworks.

Build the DEO Recruiting Platform: Play a central role in designing and launching DEO’s recruiting platform—a shared resource that connects members with talent pipelines, job board strategies, sourcing tools, and recruiting best practices at scale.

Agency Partnership Management: Vet, onboard, and manage relationships with recruiting agencies on behalf of DEO members. Negotiate group rates, set performance standards, and ensure our members get priority service and quality candidates.

Retention Strategy: Coach members not just on hiring, but on keeping their best people. Develop frameworks around onboarding, compensation design, culture building, and career pathing that reduce turnover.

Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the DEO coaching team to build the “Talent Acquisition” pillar of our curriculum—developing playbooks, toolkits, and training modules that scale across the membership.

Industry Intelligence: Stay current on dental hiring trends, compensation shifts, state-level regulatory changes affecting staffing, and emerging recruiting technologies. Keep our members ahead of the curve.
