About the position We are seeking a strategic and client-focused Employee Benefits Consultant to lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive employee benefits programs. This role requires a deep understanding of benefits strategy, compliance, and vendor management, along with strong analytical and communication skills to support both internal stakeholders and external clients. Responsibilities β’ Manage a book of business with a service team including client and carrier relationships. β’ Analyze and evaluate employee benefit programs. β’ Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness in program design, policies and practices. β’ Participate in and facilitate strategic planning sessions. β’ Manage renewal/marketing process with the service team including review of vendor/carrier services, prepare and analyze benchmark data, communicate trends to clients, and develop and communicate recommendations. β’ Assist in the sales process with prospective clients, as needed (RFP; proposal development/presentation; etc.). β’ Prepare and facilitate client meetings including agendas, communication materials, coordination of resources, etc. β’ Provide claims and financial analysis for clients where data is available. β’ Effectively delegate within the service team and provide the final peer review. β’ Proactive and continuous education of market trends, compliance and regulations. β’ Work a βhybridβ schedule with 2 to 4 days per week on-site. Requirements β’ Strong project management, analytical and consulting skills. β’ Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. β’ Experience in employee benefit service for clients up to 1,000 lives. β’ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet projected deadline β’ Ability to complete continuing education requirements. β’ Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting confidentiality of client and company information β’ Ability to attend company, department and team meetings including industry training session β’ Excellent oral and written communication skill β’ Ability to work in a team and exercise independent judgement β’ Strong organizational and time management skill β’ Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. β’ Life/Health license required. β’ Expertise in medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability and other ancillary benefits. β’ Knowledge of self-funding, consortiums and captives. β’ BA/BS Degree preferred. β’ 5+ yearsβ experience consulting on employee benefit programs. Nice-to-haves β’ Applied EPIC or other agency management software experience preferred but not required.
