About the position

The Contract Management Specialist position at the Office of the New York State Comptroller involves managing contracts and related budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting procurement processes. Responsibilities • Publish contract and procurement requirements for bidders. • Develop, evaluate or review contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitation for Bids (IFBs), Requests For Qualifications (RFQs), Requests For Information (RFIs), Requests for Application (RFAs), Sole/Single Source Procurements, and other related financial documents.

• Perform routine administrative processes associated with the contracts, review contractor performance and compliance. • Perform contract monitoring tasks including addressing any necessary contract modifications and contract amendments. • May supervise clerical or paraprofessional staff. Requirements • A bachelor's degree or higher for Trainee 1 and Trainee 2 positions. • A bachelor's degree or higher AND one year of professional experience managing contracts for Trainee 2 position. • A bachelor's degree or higher AND two years of professional experience managing contracts for Contract Management Specialist 1 position.

• A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field may substitute for some experience requirements. Nice-to-haves • Ability to read and comprehend documents. • Ability to compare documents to laws, rules and regulations for conformity. • Ability to communicate contract requirements to agency staff.
