Job Description

The D. E. Shaw Group is looking for a creative and analytical individual to join its COO Group as an associate. This role involves addressing strategic challenges, synthesizing data to develop recommendations, and executing initiatives across various projects, including the firm's generative AI strategy and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Help solve some of the biggest strategic questions facing the firm
Synthesize data from different sources to develop recommendations
Help drive the execution of strategic initiatives
Research and analyze complex issues
Work on projects like analyzing and proposing new office locations
Help drive the firm’s generative AI strategy
Shape and help execute the firm’s five-year strategic goals

Skills

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or higher in any academic field
A record of professional achievement
At least one year of comparable experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A willingness to take on challenging, high-impact projects
Experience managing projects and processes across functions
Keen attention to detail
Well-developed analytical skills
Critical thinkers who can successfully drive work forward
Coding and/or financial modeling skills are a plus but not required
