Job Description
Distinguished Programs is a leading national insurance Program Manager providing specialized insurance programs to brokers and agents. The Customer Service Representative will be the first point of contact for accounting related questions, resolving inquiries and creating an exceptional customer experience in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities
- Drive an exceptional customer experience with every interaction via phone and email
- Process check deposits, incoming payments, refunds and commissions
- Apply technical knowledge to resolve customer inquiries
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
- Act as a "gatekeeper" and "gateway", providing a bridge for smooth communication from customers to our accounting and finance department as well as occasionally to various departments throughout the company
- Handling customer and broker service inquiries through to resolution
- Accounts receivable collections follow-up
- General office and clerical work
- Ad hoc projects when applicable
Skills
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a general accounting or cash applications role
- Associate's degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel focused, and Salesforce a plus
- Adaptability/flexibility to use multiple computer operating systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including phone skills
- Interpersonal skills both in working in team environment and working with customers
- Natural curiosity and desire for problem identification and resolution
- Sense of urgency in issue resolution and attention to detail
- Insurance industry experience is extra bonus points
