Summary of Responsibilities:
- Critical Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement comprehensive data migration strategies and plans.
- Lead and manage data migration projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Collaborate with IT, business units, and external vendors to gather requirements and design data migration solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the migration process.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential data migration challenges.
- Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Monitor and report on data migration progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Manage a team of data migration specialists, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including data mapping, migration plans, and post-migration validation reports.
- Ensure data migration playbooks are developed not only for future waves of migration within the program but also for future M&A activities that will likely occur.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data migration.
- Skill Set Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data migration, data management, or related roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership position.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale data migration projects.
- Strong knowledge of data migration tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis, data mapping, and ETL processes with strong hands-on experience to provide practical guidance to the team
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations.
- Experience with cloud-based data migration and big data technologies is a plus.
