About the position The Development Associate at the National Museum of Women in the Arts is responsible for managing day-to-day operations related to the museum's planned giving program and supporting solicitation and stewardship activities for the Board of Trustees and the Advisory Board. This full-time, temporary position is designed to assist the Director of Development and Development Consultants with various tasks including prospect research, donor communications, and maintaining donor records. Responsibilities β€’ Support the Director of Development and Planned Giving Consultant in implementing strategy for planned giving prospect cultivation and donor visits. β€’ Coordinate prospect identification, outreach, follow-up materials, and record all activity in Tessitura. β€’ Pull call and prospect lists from Tessitura for outreach from Planned Giving Consultant. β€’ Coordinate planned giving mailings, special stewardship mailings, and donor recognition lists. β€’ Field and follow up on leads and inquiries related to Planned Giving. β€’ Administer and acknowledge planned gifts and bequests, ensuring accurate updating of plans and donor records in CRM. β€’ Process and track Planned Giving expenses, ensuring supporting materials are properly coded and saved. β€’ Merge and mail annual giving letters to the Board of Trustees, track responses, and prepare gift acknowledgments. β€’ Assist with donor thank you calls as needed. β€’ Gather materials for Board Report and ad hoc data hygiene projects. β€’ Conduct prospect research as needed. β€’ Support department for events, mailings, and special campaigns. Requirements β€’ Undergraduate degree with at least three years of related development experience. β€’ Experience using CRMs, with Tessitura being a plus. β€’ High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. β€’ Basic experience with Photoshop, Adobe, or other graphics software. β€’ Previous experience in a fundraising office preferred, though transferrable skills are appreciated. β€’ Exceptional attention to detail. β€’ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including willingness to speak with donors. β€’ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly. β€’ Ability to work independently and with a team. β€’ Willingness to learn and ask questions. β€’ Flexible, 'can-do' demeanor essential. Nice-to-haves β€’ Experience in a fundraising office preferred. β€’ Familiarity with Tessitura CRM.
