Job Description

About The Clover Agency

The Clover Agency is a mission-driven consultancy transforming how organizations create pathways to meaningful employment. We partner with education systems, government entities, employers, and now insurance carriers, to help individuals overcome barriers to work, regain confidence, and achieve economic mobility.

We are launching our insurance and return-to-work sales vertical, a new growth engine for the agency focused on innovative, human-centered RTW and reemployment solutions for workers’ compensation and disability carriers.

This role represents a foundational hire in that effort.

Position Summary

The Director of Insurance Partnerships & Sales is Clover’s first senior commercial hire in the insurance vertical. This role owns revenue growth by building and closing strategic partnerships with workers’ compensation, disability, and insurance carriers, while shaping Clover’s go-to-market strategy in a new and growing market.

This is a player-builder role. In the near term, this role is hands-on and revenue-focused, personally closing early carrier relationships and flagship partnerships. As the vertical grows, the Director will help design scalable sales processes, refine positioning, hire and mentor additional sales talent, and evolve into leading Clover’s insurance sales team.

Key Responsibilities

    Foundational Sales Leadership
  • Serve as the first senior sales hire for Clover’s insurance vertical, working closely with the CEO to define the go-to-market strategy.
  • Own and execute the initial sales strategy for workers’ compensation, disability insurance, TPAs, and related partners.
  • Close early anchor clients and flagship carrier relationships that establish Clover’s credibility in the market.
  • Provide real-time feedback from the market to refine offerings, pricing, and positioning.
    Revenue & Pipeline Development
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities with insurance carriers and vendor partners.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from discovery through contracting and launch.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate revenue forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales targets tied to commission incentives.
    Partnership & Executive Relationships
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with carrier executives, claims leaders, and vendor management teams.
  • Position Clover as a strategic partner delivering measurable RTW outcomes, improved claimant experience, and workforce reintegration success.
  • Represent Clover at industry conferences, carrier meetings, and executive forums.
Sales Infrastructure & Future Team Growth
  • Design and implement scalable sales processes, messaging, and tools (CRM, pitch decks, pricing frameworks, sales playbooks).
  • Partner with leadership to define when and how to hire additional sales roles.
  • In future phases, recruit, onboard, and mentor insurance sales team members.
  • Establish performance expectations, metrics, and coaching structures for a growing sales function.
    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in sales, business development, or partnerships within insurance, disability management, workers’ compensation, healthcare, or workforce services.
  • Proven ability to both close deals personally and build sales infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of return-to-work programs, disability management, and the insurance carrier ecosystem.
  • Experience working closely with founders or executive leadership in a growth-stage organization.
  • Exceptional communication, executive presence, and relationship-building skills
    Preferred Experience
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Rehabilitation, Counseling, Public Administration or related field
  • Proven experience selling services or solutions to workers’ compensation or disability insurance carriers.
  • Existing relationships with carriers, TPAs, or disability management organizations.
  • Experience launching a new market, vertical, or product line.
  • Thrives in environments without fully built sales organizations and is energized by creating them.
    Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission.
  • Long-term growth opportunity into a senior sales leadership role as the vertical scales.
  • Generous Health & Wellness Monthly Stipend
  • Remote-first flexibility with travel for key client meetings and industry events.
