Director of Strategic Growth Department: External Affairs Manager: VP of Administration; Chief of Staff Job Summary The Director of Strategic Growth is a hands-on, execution-driven leader responsible for building and advancing GeoComm’s next phase of growth through ecosystem expansion and new strategic initiatives . This role owns a defined growth portfolio and is accountable for sourcing, shaping, prioritizing, and relentlessly advancing high-impact strategic opportunities aligned with GeoComm’s overall strategy. Operating at the intersection of ecosystem strategy, market expansion, and corporate development, this role goes far beyond advisory or planning work. The Director personally drives opportunity creation and deal momentum , owning a pipeline of strategic partnerships, integrations, and growth initiatives from early concept through executive decision and clean transition to execution teams. This is a front-end, opportunity-creation role for someone who thrives on volume, velocity, and follow-through. Success requires constant outbound motion, rapid deal shaping, disciplined prioritization, and the ability to move ambiguity to action ensuring strategic ideas turn into executable initiatives that drive long-term enterprise value. This role reports to the Chief of Staff, VP of Administration to ensure alignment with GeoComm’s enterprise strategic growth priorities, and investment decisions, reflecting its responsibility for defining, initiating, and driving where and how the company expands. It operates in close partnership with the following teams: partnerships, sales, product, engineering, finance and executive leadership. Essential Specific Job Duties Strategic Opportunity Pipeline & Opportunity Origination and Shaping · Actively build and continuously advance a pipeline of high-impact strategic opportunities , spanning ecosystem expansion, embedded partnerships, channel models, and inorganic growth and at various stages of development · Proactively originate new opportunities by identifying targets, leveraging your own contacts as well as our leads, initiating outreach, and driving early engagement across strategic alliances, OEM/embedded partnerships, technology integrations, and channel expansion models. · Own early-stage deal shaping end-to-end , including: o Defining the strategic objective and value thesis o Translating real customer and market needs into concrete use cases o Designing initial engagement, pilot, or partnership structures o Rapidly testing assumptions through direct partner and customer interaction · Develop disciplined, executive-ready business cases for each opportunity, covering market sizing, strategic alignment, financial impact, operating implications, relationship management, communication strategy and risk without waiting for perfect data. You must be capable of creating an actionable plan with ambiguity. You lead from the front by understanding the customer, our partners, and our solutions. · Push opportunities forward with urgency , moving them from conceptual ideas to validating concepts to executive-level decision readiness; you will own the process of clearly identifying blockers, tradeoffs, partners and the required decisions to win. You will be an impatient builder who drives consensus across the team to tackle audacious pursuits, while digging in to drive your win strategy. · Maintain visible momentum across the pipeline , ensuring opportunities are either advancing, being refined, or being decisively closed—never stalled. Corporate Development Support · Continuously build, refresh, and pressure-test a real-time view of the market landscape , actively surfacing inorganic growth opportunities aligned with GeoComm’s strategic priorities and sharing clear perspectives with executive leadership. · Conduct ongoing market scans and target identification , proactively identifying potential acquisition, tuck-in, or strategic capability targets rather than relying on inbound interest or third-party processes. · Personally lead early-stage opportunity evaluation , including: o Rapid assessment of market relevance and customer demand o Evaluation of product, technology, and capability fit o Clear articulation of strategic rationale versus build, partner, or defer alternatives o Early go / no-go recommendations well before formal engagement or diligence · Partners with executive leadership, finance, and external advisor s during formal diligence and transaction execution. · Maintain momentum and discipline across opportunities , ensuring each is actively advancing, being refined, or being decisively stopped never languishing without ownership or direction. Transition to Execution & Handoff Ownership · Relentlessly drive initiatives to execution readiness , clearly defining strategic intent, scope, and operating model before handing work to delivery or execution teams. · Force clarity up front by explicitly defining the value proposition, target customer or partner segment, success metrics, and expected business impact for every initiative—eliminating ambiguity before execution begins. · Design and document the execution handoff model , ensuring ownership, decision rights, dependencies, and expectations are unambiguous at the point of transition. · Partner directly with the Partner Team, Product, Sales, and other functional leaders to ensure initiatives move cleanly from strategy into execution, with no loss of context, momentum, or accountability. Build relationships with customers that transfer to our execution teams. · Own the quality of the handoff , holding teams accountable to what was agreed and ensuring initiatives launch with clear goals, aligned leadership support, and active follow-through. Remain engaged post-hand off to monitor early performance, ensure alignment with original strategic intent and support the transition. Ecosystem Strategy & Expansion · Own GeoComm’s ecosystem expansion strategy , developing and managing a prioritized portfolio of strategic ecosystem opportunities aligned with company growth objectives and product vision. · Translate ecosystem strategy into a clear, actionable multi-year roadmap , defining specific ecosystem plays, partnership models, and integration paths that drive measurable revenue, adoption, and market expansion. · Maintain a dynamic, real-time view of the ecosystem landscape , including existing partners, strategic gaps, emerging technologies, and disruptive players—using this insight to inform prioritization, investment decisions, and executive recommendations. · Identify and validate high-leverage partnership opportunities , assessing strategic fit, value creation potential, and go-to-market implications across public safety, enterprise, and adjacent markets. · Ensure ecosystem initiatives are directly tied to measurable outcomes such as revenue growth, customer acquisition, product adoption or market entry. Minimum Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is strongly preferred. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. Experience : · 8-12 years of experience in business development, corporate development, strategy or related roles preferably in SaaS, GIS, public safety, or related technology-driven industries. · Demonstrated ability to win and drive profitable and repeatable business · Demonstrated success in identifying and executing complex strategic deals or growth initiatives · Strong understanding of platform ecosystems, technology partnerships, and/or embedded business models · Experience in public safety, government technology, GIS, or adjacent markets preferred · Experience building from zero to early-stage initiatives Skills : · Exceptional strategic thinking, financial acumen, and executive communication skills · Ability to operate in ambiguity and build structure in emerging areas · Ability to bring team members and partners together to drive success · Ability to own the work needed to drive business growth · Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
