About the position
- Responsibilities
- Coordinates the activity and day-to-day operations of security dispatchers and security staff on assigned shift.
- Provides guidance and leadership to security dispatchers regarding departmental issues, including enforcement of policies and procedures and security services provided.
- Evaluates incidents of a serious security or sensitive nature and takes appropriate action, including response and notifications and advises security leadership of all notable incidents.
- Ensures all security dispatcher reports are complete and correct within established time frame.
- Supports leadership in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Ensures all dispatchers complete required annual certifications and training requirements within required time.
- Works in collaboration with Security leadership overseeing the scheduling of personnel.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of Dispatcher experience.
- Valid driver's license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Supervisor Course (IAHSS) certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
