Job Description
I am seeking an experienced academic editor and writing collaborator to work with me beginning in my first year of doctoral study, with the intention of developing a long-term professional relationship that extends through dissertation completion and future scholarly and book-length publications.
This role goes beyond traditional proofreading. I am looking for someone who can support the development of my academic voice, strengthen clarity and structure, and help refine complex, interdisciplinary ideas while maintaining scholarly rigor.
Ideal Background & Fit
The ideal collaborator will have familiarity with, or strong interest in, one or more of the following areas:
Mindβbody medicine, integrative health, or behavioral science
Neuroscience, psychophysiology, or stress systems
Biochemistry, pharmacology, or related life sciences
Complementary or alternative therapeutic frameworks (viewed through an academic lens)
You do not need to agree with every emerging or nontraditional idea explored, but you should be open-minded, intellectually curious, and comfortable engaging with interdisciplinary and evolving research landscapes.
What Iβm Looking For
Strong experience editing graduate- or doctoral-level academic writing
Ability to help refine argumentation, flow, and scholarly tone
Comfort working collaboratively over time (not one-off edits)
Respect for confidentiality and unpublished research directions
Willingness to grow alongside my work as it evolves into a dissertation and later publications (eBooks, academic-adjacent works)
Working Style
Ongoing collaboration (monthly or per-project cadence)
Feedback that is constructive, thoughtful, and grounded in academic standards
A relationship built on trust, dialogue, and shared intellectual respect
This position is well-suited for an academic editor, researcher, or scholar who enjoys helping shape ideas in their early stages and supporting work that bridges conventional science with integrative perspectives.
If this sounds aligned, please reach out with:
A brief overview of your academic or editorial background
