Location: Remote Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen Employment Type: Full-time, Contract Position Summary The Document Management System (DMS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will lead the design, integration, and implementation of an enterprise DMS solution on the Salesforce platform for a federal agency. This individual will serve as the technical and functional authority on document lifecycle management, metadata standards, and secure content storage and retrieval within a FedRAMP-authorized environment. The ideal candidate combines deep DMS expertise (e.g., Google DMS, Documentum, SharePoint, or OpenText) with hands-on Salesforce implementation experience. Key Responsibilities β’ Architect and implement a secure, scalable DMS solution integrated with Salesforce to support document creation, classification, versioning, and archival in compliance with federal records management standards. β’ Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Salesforce developers, and DMS engineers to define requirements and oversee end-to-end solution design. β’ Configure and optimize document metadata schemas, access control lists (ACLs), retention schedules, and audit capabilities to meet agency and NARA guidelines. β’ Develop migration strategies for legacy document repositories (e.g., Documentum, Google Drive, SharePoint, FileNet) into the new DMS architecture. β’ Lead integration design using Salesforce APIs, middleware, or native connectors for seamless document synchronization. β’ Ensure DMS architecture aligns with FedRAMP, FISMA, and agency-specific security and data-retention requirements. β’ Provide governance oversight for document taxonomy, naming conventions, and change management procedures. β’ Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures. β’ Support testing, validation, and user-acceptance efforts to ensure system performance and compliance. β’ Train users and administrators on DMS functionality, best practices, and record management policies. Required Qualifications β’ U.S. Citizenship is required. β’ Bachelorβs degree β’ 8+ years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise DMS or ECM (Enterprise Content Management) solutions. β’ Demonstrated experience integrating a DMS solution (such as Google DMS, Documentum, SharePoint, or OpenText) with Salesforce. β’ Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, APIs, and document management features (e.g., Files, Content, and Records). β’ Experience designing and managing document classification, metadata, version control, and access governance. β’ Proven success delivering DMS solutions in a federal or highly regulated environment. β’ Proficiency with workflow automation, records retention policies, and secure document storage best practices. β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into business-friendly language.
