Position Overview

As a Temporary Customer Service Associate in our Chicago location, you will be the face of arenaflex, providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service at the point of sale. This role is perfect for candidates who thrive in fast‑paced retail environments, enjoy engaging with a diverse customer base, and are eager to develop foundational retail skills that can serve as a springboard for future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Warmly greet every guest, offering assistance and product knowledge to enhance their shopping journey.

  • Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly, ensuring a positive, memorable experience.

  • Model and share best‑practice service behaviors—including eye contact, proactive assistance, and follow‑through—so teammates can emulate a consistent “arenaflex” service standard.

  • Identify opportunities to upsell or recommend complementary products that meet the guest’s needs, driving satisfaction and incremental sales.

Operations & Store Maintenance

  • Accurately register sales using the assigned cash register, handling cash, credit, and digital payments while processing voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges as required.

  • Maintain clean, well‑merchandised counters and shelves; conduct regular inventory counts and keep accurate records.

  • Price and tag merchandise, set up promotional displays, and execute seasonal or special‑event resets under guidance from the Store Manager or Shift Leader.

  • Implement arenaflex’s asset protection procedures to safeguard merchandise and minimize loss.

  • Adhere to all state and local regulations concerning age‑restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco, ensuring responsible sales practices.

  • Assist with proper food‑item segregation, stock rotation (FIFO), and product placement according to company policy.

  • Operate store equipment and systems with confidence, including the photo‑service kiosk, digital passport photo stations, and print‑on‑demand machines.

  • Manage web‑order pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in the Picture Care Plus platform, pick items, and deliver them to guests promptly.

  • Support both interior and exterior store upkeep, ensuring a tidy, safe, and inviting environment for shoppers and team members alike.

  • Comply with all arenaflex policies, foster respectful relationships with coworkers, and complete any special projects or assignments as directed.

Training & Personal Development

  • Participate actively in scheduled training sessions, completing all required performance‑learning plans (PPLs) set by management or corporate learning teams.

  • Seek feedback, ask questions, and apply new knowledge to improve on‑the‑job performance.

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking proficiency in English.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and varying shift patterns as needed to meet store demands.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others and create positive experiences.

  • Basic math aptitude for cash handling and transaction accuracy.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lb, typical of a retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least six months of prior experience in a retail or customer‑service setting.

  • Previous employment with arenaflex or a comparable large‑scale retailer, providing familiarity with fast‑track checkout environments.

  • Experience operating point‑of‑sale (POS) systems, photo‑service kiosks, or web‑order fulfillment platforms.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Communication: Clear, courteous verbal and written interaction with guests and teammates.

  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to quickly assess situations, propose solutions, and follow through until resolution.

  • Attention to Detail: Accurate cash handling, precise inventory tracking, and meticulous merchandising.

  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to support colleagues, share knowledge, and contribute to a harmonious work atmosphere.

  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, new technology rollouts, and seasonal promotional cycles.

  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying guest needs and delivering above‑expectation service.
