Job Description
Dyslexia Solutions is looking for certified teachers or certified Speech Language Pathologists willing to tutor students ages 5-12 in the following areas:
South Jordan, Sandy, Draper, West Valley, Herriman, Bluffdale, & Lehi. Tutors receive and teach scheduled students one-on-one during 50-minute sessions at their homes under the direction of a Dyslexia Solutions Orton-Gillingham Practitioner. Limited online tutoring sessions are available, subject to demand. Dyslexia Solutions provides an excellent opportunity for certified, work-at-home professionals dedicated to the education and benefit of children who struggle with dyslexia and other reading difficulties.
Responsibilities
Utilize structured literacy programs based on “The Science of Reading” to tutor students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties as directed by the Orton-Gillingham Practitioner. Prepare for tutoring sessions under the direction of the Orton-Gillingham Practitioner. Communicate & coordinate with parents and students in a professional manner, provide one-on-one tutoring of children & struggling readers in your home, maintain educational records and monitor student progress, and report on student progress to the Orton Gillingham Practitioner.
Qualifications
Teaching Degree/Certificate or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
If you want to work from home...home office with side-by-side or across-open-table setup for meeting with students.
You can also tutor from our main location.
Clean and professional home; free of distractions & noise during tutoring sessions.
Cell phone and/or home computer for reporting progress & scheduling with clients.
Minimum: 10 sessions per week availability (generally 2-3 hours/day, individual session times are subject to student scheduling)
Ability to manage/operate Zoom and other educational software/websites to work with online students (if applicable for online students).
Additional Information
Work from home and at your own schedule as coordinated with each student.
Flexible workload. Each tutor is able to determine the number of students they want to take above the 10-session minimum.
Paid training, certification & auxiliary instruction.
Note:
All tutors will be working with young children in their homes and will be subject to required federal and state background checks.
