Office of Nutrition Support Job Focus Area This position at the Louisiana Department of Education, Division of Nutrition Support offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the administration of federally funded Child Nutrition Programs that impact hundreds of thousands of children across Louisiana each day. As an Education Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective implementation, oversight, and evaluation of programs such as the National School Lunch Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program and Summer Food Service Program. Six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services. Job Duties: As an Education Consultant, you will support Sponsoring Organizations to successfully operate their Child Nutrition Programs. In this role, you will: Oversee program sponsors, approve applications, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements Lead training sessions, workshops and provide in-person technical assistance to program staff and sponsors Address audit findings and resolve administrative issues Conduct on-site program reviews, trainings, and follow-ups to ensure compliance Develop policies, analyze program impacts, and recommend changes Manage special projects and represent the Department at conferences and trainings Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined. Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. **Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series has a special entrance rate (SER) of $27.07 hourly, $2,165.60 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
