Sargent & Lundy is a leading engineering firm specializing in advanced solutions for various sectors including oil and gas. They are seeking an entry level Electrical Engineer who will work on the design and analysis of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities, as well as support the design of power plants and industrial facilities. Responsibilities Work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems Support the design of power plants and other industrial facilities Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of electrical engineering issues Assist project lead in efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget Support the project lead in coordinating systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements Prepare and review detailed calculations, including three phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production Interface with vendors to prepare materials and equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and S&L formats Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation Skills A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required with a graduation date in Spring 2026 or before Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design Experience in reviewing and preparing engineers design calculations and drawings Construction and start-up experience a plus A Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred EIT Benefits Health Plans: Medical, Dental, Vision Life & Accident Insurance Disability Coverage Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Back-Up Daycare FSA & HSA 401(k) Pre-Tax Commuter Account Merit Scholarship Program Employee Discount Program Corporate Charitable Giving Program Tuition Assistance First
