Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems is a leading provider of high technology solutions in the defense sector. They are seeking an Engineering Leadership Program Engineer to rotate across various teams, support critical systems, and complete a technical master’s degree while engaging in community and professional development activities.
Responsibilities
- As an Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) Member for General Dynamics Mission Systems you’ll rotate across several cross functional teams and opportunity to support other sites that are responsible for Strategic Weapon Deterrence, Shipboard Electronic Integration, Submarine Combat Systems and more
- While completing different rotations you will also complete a technical master’s degree, undergo internal training, be involved in community engagement, and establish a strong professional network
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical, Systems or a related specialized area or field is required
- At least 0-3 years of related work experience
- Candidates must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Agile experience preferred
- Strong Technical Background
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Experience with C++, Angular, Python, & Java
- Familiarity with the Agile Framework
- Expertise in applying technical standards and methodologies to solve challenges in creative ways
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical contributions in a group setting
- Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements
- 3.2 GPA or higher
- Previous internship or project work in your discipline
- A demonstrated ability to manage your time effectively, face challenging tasks, communicate effectively, and work in a team environment
- A passion for supporting those who serve, learning and applying new concepts, and community involvement
