Job Description

They are seeking an Intermediate Transportation Design Technologist to work on transportation infrastructure projects that enhance community mobility, involving roadways, highways, and traffic engineering.
Responsibilities
- Providing engineering and technical expertise on multi-disciplinary projects
- Participating in studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads
- Contributing to reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
- Preparing designs for municipal road reconstructions, water/sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management
- Communicating with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision
- Supporting proposals preparation
- Collaborating with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and construction estimates
- Mentoring junior engineers and technologists as needed
Skills
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
- 0-7 years of experience in municipal/transportation design engineering, with some consulting experience would be an asset
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of highway geometric design principles, grading, and drainage
- Familiarity with municipal and provincial transportation design standards
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
