This is a remote position.
- English to Brazilian Portuguese - Legal (Judiciary) Translator and or Editor – Freelance
- *Requirement: U.S. citizenship
- Global Language Strategies seeks a freelance / contract linguist (legal translator and or editor to perform legal services for a United States Government client. Must possess at least three years of experience translating and or editing legal content with a knowledge of correct legal and technical terms in English and the source language.
- *Applicants must be U.S. citizens willing to undergo security clearance processing**
Requirements
- Qualifications include:
- Three years of experience providing professional legal language services to governmental clients
- Extensive legal language service experience is required
- Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or comparable field required
- Must be able to use CAT tools (if translator or editor); experience using Trados preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and understanding of language services
- Advanced proficiency in reading/writing/listening and speaking in English and the target foreign language(s)
- Available during 9-5 EST most days to take on-demand assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
