Job Description

Jacobs is a company focused on solving critical problems for cities and environments. They are seeking an Entry Level Chemical/Process Engineer to join their Advanced Facilities Electronics Team in Portland, OR, where the engineer will work on various engineering tasks, including developing process flow diagrams and equipment specifications under the guidance of senior staff.


Responsibilities

  • Work on state-of-the-art projects, implementing, modifying, and maintaining process designs
  • Assist with the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications
  • Develop flow diagrams, perform sizing calculations for pipe and equipment, and develop process specifications
  • Ensure that design and construction conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements
  • Utilize software such as PipeFlo, AFT Fathom, Bluebeam, and SmartPlant

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship (sponsorship will not be available for this role now or in the future)
  • Familiarity with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Basic understanding of process design principles and standards
  • Previous relevant internship experience
  • Basic knowledge of ASPEN, PipeFlo (Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom, HTRI, WinGems, and SmartPlant
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing processes, process engineering and design activities
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate or on track to obtain
