Are you a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction and utilities? Do you have a knack for numbers and a keen eye for detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking an Estimator with a focus on Civil/Utilities in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for various civil construction and utility projects. You will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects, including electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects. This is a full-time permanent position requiring at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
ย Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction and utility projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs.
ย Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
ย Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to aid in estimate preparation.
ย Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
ย Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget.
ย Participate in the negotiation and awarding of contracts.
ย Maintain a comprehensive cost estimating database for future reference and cost analysis.
ย Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding cost estimation and project financial status.
ย Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in the construction industry.
Qualifications:
ย A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the civil construction and utilities sector.
ย Proven experience with electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects.
ย Bachelorยs degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
ย Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
ย Exceptional numerical skills and the ability to create detailed and accurate cost estimates.
ย Proficient in cost estimating software and other relevant computer applications.
ย Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
ย Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
ย Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
ย Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
ย Professional certification in cost estimation or project management will be an added advantage.
