Ajialouna US is a Virginia-based 501(c)(3) expanding nearly 30 years of humanitarian and educational impact from Lebanon into the United States. Building on Ajialouna’s legacy of supporting over 10,500 students, Ajialouna US mobilizes the Lebanese diaspora and U.S. allies to secure Lebanon’s future through education. Our flagship initiative, the Ajialouna Scholars Program, supports higher-education students through degree completion with dignity.

Ajialouna US seeks a part-time mission-driven Executive Director to lead its U.S. expansion. This role oversees operations, fundraising, programs, board relations, and community engagement while ensuring organizational sustainability and mission advancement.

Key Responsibilities

    1. Leadership & Strategy
  • Implement the strategic plan approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide leadership to staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Identify opportunities for mission expansion, partnerships, and programming improvements.
    2. Operations & Administration
  • Oversee daily operations, including program delivery, office administration, and volunteer coordination.
  • Develop and maintain organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage contracts, vendors, and operational resources effectively.
    3. Financial Management
  • Manage annual budgets for board approval.
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure sound fiscal practices.
  • Support annual audit or financial review processes.
    4. Fundraising & Development
  • Lead fundraising activities including grant writing, donor cultivation, campaigns, and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, sponsors, and foundations.
  • Ensure proper donor acknowledgment and CRM record maintenance.
    5. Board Relations
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors.
  • Provide timely updates, reports, and recommendations.
  • Support board meetings, governance practices, and committee work.
    6. Communications & Community Engagement
  • Serve as the organization’s public spokesperson.
  • Manage website content, newsletters, social media, and press outreach.
  • Build community partnerships and represent the organization at events.
    7. Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local nonprofit laws including IRS requirements.
  • Maintain organizational records, filings, and policies.
  • Support ethical and transparent organizational culture.
    Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of nonprofit leadership or management experience.
  • Proven success in fundraising and donor relations.
  • Strong financial, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a part-time role.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Microsoft Project, Jira).
  • Due to future growth and eventual office set up, would prefer candidates who reside in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C.
  • Fluency in Arabic and/or the Lebanese dialect is strongly preferred to effectively engage with our community, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
