We're a trauma-informed organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we're committed to creating a workplace that reflects the growing world around us. **Job Summary** As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you'll be working on a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team, handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. You'll provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals who are experiencing emotional distress. While the interactions begin online, this position may also support telephonic intervention if an individual would prefer or need continued support to ensure safety. **Key Responsibilities** * Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments * Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs * Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide * Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation * Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings * Assist in administrative tasks as needed **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required, or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist * Six months to one year of related crisis experience is required * Demonstrates high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette * Effectively communicates via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods * Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working in a crisis hotline or mental health setting * Knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competence * Certification in crisis intervention, such as QPR or ASIST * Bilingual or multilingual skills **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Proficiency in using technology, including chat/text platforms and electronic health records * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At arenaflex, we're committed to investing in our employees' growth and development.
