As a Customer Service/Sales Associate at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to our customers, learning about our products and services, and selling entire projects to meet customer needs. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates to maintain a safe and clean shopping environment, and you'll be expected to follow all safety policies and standards. - *Key Responsibilities**
- Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance
- Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs
- Sell entire projects to meet customer needs, using your knowledge of products and services to recommend and close sales
- Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
- Follow all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
- Work safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers
- Collaborate with Department Supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve sales and customer service skills
- *Essential Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred
- 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in a retail or home improvement setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
- Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- *Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in a home improvement or retail environment
- Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
- Certification in sales or customer service, such as the Certified Sales Professional (CSP) or Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues in multiple languages
