We're a high-paced, startup-like team of engineers, marketers, business developers, and product managers, and we're looking for someone who shares our passion for driving an entirely new technology-focused business line and distribution channel. **What You'll Do** As a Customer Success Engineer II - Backstage, your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain strong relationships with our current customers, ensuring their success and satisfaction with our commercial Backstage products and services. Your key responsibilities will include: * Nurturing strong relationships with our mid-market segment by providing tools, information, and training needed to achieve their desired outcomes * Capturing customer objectives, mapping out a pathway to achieving them, and measuring success using data-driven feedback loops * Onboarding new customers through the implementation process, ensuring a smooth transition * Identifying points of friction in the onboarding and adoption experience * Representing the voice of the customer with internal teams, including sales, product, marketing, engineering, and customer support to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any problems or concerns * Developing and maintaining features on our open source platform, Backstage, collaborating with internal teams and the broader open source community to enhance developer experience and platform capabilities **Who You Are** We're looking for someone with a unique balance of technical knowledge, an eye for business, and interpersonal skills. If you have: * An understanding of how developers work and collaborate within an enterprise environment, as well as extensive experience with modern web development and infrastructure * React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Node as part of your tool belt * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing customer issues * Excellent communication skills, with a strong focus on customer needs and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users * Experience working in tech consulting or customer management, or a similar role * Experience working with/contributing to backstage.io, our open source platform **Where You'll Be** This role is based in New York City, but we offer the flexibility to work where you work best. There will be some in-person meetings, but you'll also have the opportunity to work from home.
